The Christmas season is in full swing in Cleveland, and the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority’s holiday trains have returned. The RTA has its trains decked out, and visitors are invited to take a holiday-themed ride on the Red, Blue and Green lines.

But, why keep all that fun to yourself? Riders are asked to share photos of their travels on the Holiday Trains by using the hashtag #RTAHolidayTrain.

New this year, the RTA has introduced a Holiday Trolley that will be at a variety of community events. The RTA’s “Month of Merry” holiday promotion will also feature special giveaways and gift cards through Dec. 23.

More Cleveland fun happens this season with the Metroparks Zoo Wild Winter Lights. The popular event is back and open select dates through Jan. 2.

“Cleveland Metroparks Zoo is transforming into a winter wonderland this holiday season with Wild Winter Lights presented by NOPEC,” the zoo states on their official website. They add, “This year’s event features hundreds of lighting displays across holiday-themed areas and a dynamic light show featuring a massive 50-foot-tall tree.”

Wild Winter Lights displays more than a million lights and hundreds of light displays across the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo. Both drive-through and walk-through options are available. For the walk-through, visitors will be able to enjoy carousel rides, costume characters, choirs and ice carvers. Santa is also available for photo opportunities at his workshop during the walk-through through Dec. 23.

Wild Winter Lights tickets are limited, so advance online reservations are strongly encouraged. Regular zoo events are also planned through the month of December.
