Say it isn’t so. Ice cream lovers across America got the bad news on Monday (July 25) that a popular frozen treat is going away after a successful fun.

Klondike has announced that its Choco Taco – a novelty treat consisting of ice cream, sugar cone, chocolate and nuts – has been discontinued. So, why the change? A tweet sent out by the company on Monday explains that they had to get rid of Choco Taco because of the popularity of its sister snacks.

“We’ve experienced an unprecedented spike in demand across our portfolio and have had to make very tough decisions to ensure availability of our full portfolio nationwide,” the company stated. “We’re very sorry for any disappointment!”

No word yet on if the public outcry will change the minds of the powers at be at Klondike, but in the meantime, we’re guessing a competitor will look to launch a similar item and scoop up that section of the ice cream market, no pub intended.
