Detroit Tigers Officially Start Spring Training

The Detroit Tigers officially started their new season on Monday (Feb. 21) with the first full-squad workout of spring training. Scott Harris has taken over the Tigers as president of baseball operations, bringing a new feel to the season.

In addition, some changes have already been announced for the new season. The team has announced new start times for weeknight home games. According to a press release, Tigers weeknight home games will start at 6:40 p.m. That change was made following feedback from fans, baseball operations, TV rightsholders and more.

Opening Day for the Detroit Tigers is set for Thursday, April 6. The team will take on the Boston Red Sox. The game is presented by Rocket Mortgage. This season will also honor popular Tigers player Miguel Cabrera. This season will be his final season in the MLB.
