The White House will host the annual Easter Egg Roll for the first time since 2019. President Joe Biden and first lady Jill Biden will host kids and their families on the White House South Lawn this Monday (April 18), the day after Easter.

As in previous years, kids in attendance at the Easter Egg Roll at the White House will receive keepsake wooden eggs. According to the White House, more than 14,000 hard-boiled eggs are hand-dyed for Easter Egg Roll and the egg hunt each year.

Each year, some of the tickets to the event are set aside for local military families and public school students. The White House gets around 50,000 submissions for a total of 200,000 tickets for the event.

Kids who are visually-impaired are still able to take part in the egg roll and egg hunt via “chirping eggs,” the White House stated.

The Easter Egg Roll dates back to 1878.
