Michigan Gas Prices Set a New Low for 2022

According to AAA Michigan, gas prices in Michigan and the metro Detroit are have reached a new low average price for 2022.
AAA reports gas prices in Michigan are down 17 cents to an average of $3.07 per gallon. Compared to this time last time, that’s 81 cents less. Compared to this time last year, that’s 8 cents less.
In metro Detroit, the average price dropped to $2.99 per gallon. That’s the lowest since May of 2021.
“Michigan motorists continue to see gas prices decline with the state average hitting a new 2022-low and a few metro areas falling below $3 a gallon,” Adrienne Woodland, spokesperson, AAA-The Auto Club Group, said in a statement. “As demand remains low and stocks grow, drivers will likely continue to see pump prices decrease through the holiday week.”
The average cost of gas in Michigan has gone down $1.11 in the past two months.
The most expensive gas price averages in the state are Traverse City ($3.37), Jackson ($3.23) and Grand Rapids ($3.19). The least expensive gas price averages in Michigan are Marquette ($2.94), Flint ($2.99) and metro Detroit ($2.99).
